Change is a Stairway

When things need to be changed they tend to be nasty and grimy and smell funny, like a diaper or the filter on a fish tank or a mind.

But change has always been an ascending stairway leading to where the air flows freely and the new views are remembered and cherished. Change is like a barrier that one must vanquish and obliterate in order to remain true to ones self, therefore change must be accepted and encouraged.

Sometimes change comes upon us with striking force and furious abruptness, but if accepted, acknowledged and appreciated, change has always been a good thing.

Some of us don't like change, we will do what ever we can to avoid it but it comes none the less. It appears with the speed of light or approaches like a distant cloud, but when it arrives it must be surrendered to and internalized to make the process complete.

I see change as a stairway, made up of steps and landings, adjustments and releases leading to a place where one must anticipate the next level of change and if we are smart, preparing us to take the next step upward to levels we once looked up to see.

Sometime we are faced with change at the time we think is the worst possible time for it, but we are wrong.

All change is done best with an open cheerful mind, inclined to speculate on the positive aspects of the next level. Change happens the moment we adjust our minds to accept it and benefit from it, then we do.

So if you are faced with a necessary change, greet it with a smile and perhaps a chuckle and then lift your leg and step up.
